Our Piano Curriculum for Adults
Jenny has fostered a large group of enthusiastic adult students by following a few principles.
1. Let Adults Choose What They Want to Learn
The focus of the piano lessons is completely up to you. If there are specific songs or styles you want to learn, Jenny will create lessons that focus on them specifically. You do not have to learn music theory or classical music if you aren’t interested.
2. Teach to Their Level
Even if the song you want to learn is very complex and difficult, Jenny can teach you. Your lessons might start by focusing just on a specific part of the song, or Jenny might start by teaching you a version of the song that is less difficult.
3. Play for Others
Playing piano can be incredibly rewarding when you can demonstrate your talents in front of friends and family. Jenny organises recitals and performances so that every student gets a chance to show off a little.
4. Own a Quality Piano
When learning piano, it’s important that you have a good piano at home where you can practise. If you don’t own a piano, Jenny can refer you to some great piano sellers who can show you some fantastic pianos that are affordably priced.
5. Give It a Try!
Piano lessons aren’t for everybody, so Jenny offers trial and basic piano lessons, where you can see if it’s something that you want to continue.
Learning and playing piano can be very rewarding no matter how old you are. In fact, there are many benefits for adults that learn to play piano. Mastering a musical instrument can teach you attention to detail as well as help you become more patient, and these skills will be very useful as an employee, friend, and parent.
