Learning materials that are refined every semestar
The ABRSM exam syllabus are continuously evolving and Jenny revises her guidebook immediately once she has obtained feedback from her students who took the most recent exams. For the recent grade 5 exams, ABRSM has removed the melody writing and replaced it with other questions such as subdivison of rhythmic patterns. There was also an increased focus on music analysis. For grade 8 music theory exam, they have asked less questions about musical terms, historical period and characteristic of music. There was an increased focus on asking more on modulations on key, analysis of chords, written out ornaments and identifying more complicated melodic decorations.
Group Lessons but tailored to individual needs
Whether you prefer face-to-face or online learning, our intensive music theory courses offer flexibility. You can choose between 1-on-1 individual lessons or small group settings, with a maximum of four students per group. Unlike a traditional group classes, Jenny does not provide a lecture style instruction. Instead every student will receive personalized attention and each will progress at their own pace. Faster learners can tackle higher grade worksheets, while those facing challenges or requiring extra practice will receive extra worksheets for practise.
