In her over 15 years of experience teaching piano and music theory, Jenny has learned fun and effective ways to teach basic music concepts, so that you will be completely prepared for the Grade 5 music theory exam. Some of the areas and topics that she teaches you include: recognising keys and intervals, learning how to transpose a melody to a different key, recognising chords and progressions, properly writing a melody, and analysing a musical piece.
The exam for Grade 5 music theory in Singapore is actually quite complicated, but with a good teacher, you will have a solid understanding of all the concepts you need to know. Students should be able to go for grade 5 theory exam directly after a 1 year course. Fees are collected on a 4 lessons cycle basis which are due on every 1st lessons of the cycles. Most of our theory students take only 2 years to complete grade 1-8.
