During the 10 years of teaching experience in Yamaha Singapore, Ms Tan has taught music to children as young as 3 years old. Ms Tan is able to relate to the demands of kids’ busy schedule in Singapore and she brings this experience to her teaching career.
Ms.Tan has developed her own unique teaching skills that can help to motivate the students to learn and take the initiative to practise at home, she also understands that students may come across difficulties in technical skills that obstruct their improvement and she has effective methods to overcome the student’s difficulties to score excellent results every year.

Teaching Experiences
Ms Chan plays the violin, pipa and ukulele and has been playing the piano since the age of 4 and still actively performs on it. She has discovered the methods of solving many technical problems and understood the common problems in posture, arm and hand positions.
Generally she would start beginners with Alfred piano library books level A, B, C, 1B and Level 2. There after it’s up to their individual skills and interests. Technical studies such as Czerny or Tuneful graded studies may be employed. Other than classical music she does Pop, new age or some jazz music. She can even arrange or write music for her students.
She is also available for music theory lessons.
Ms Chan has done Kindermusik (Music program from 18 months to about 7 years old) and therefore understands the behaviour of young kids.
Her students vary in ages from young children up to 60 years of age.
